Education Qualification :

- Essential Criteria:
- An academic/scholar of outstanding track record in the area of IPR and aligned area of studies.
- Good knowledge of the latest national and international research trends and developments in relevant areas;
- Retired Officials of IP Offices under CGPDTM having experience of 5 years of working at GP ₹ 6600/- or above as Controller of Patent & Design or Registrar of Trademark & Geographical Indications or Registrar of Copyrights);
- An outstanding professional with an established reputation in the field of IPR, who has made a significant contribution to knowledge in the field (to be substantiated by credentials);
- Individuals with ages up to 69 years are eligible to apply.
- Desirables:
- Experience in teaching/research in premier law universities/colleges in relevant areas;
- Excellent inter-personal and team-building skills;
- Ability to innovate and improve research, training, and extension activities or services and to pursue interesting new ideas and new methods in the field of IPR
- Role and Responsibilities:
- The Chair Professor shall work shall include:
- Initiate, plan, implement, and follow-up research activities exclusively in the area of IPR law and policy in collaboration with national and international stakeholders including law firms, corporate houses, government
- departments, public sector undertakings, funding agencies, etc.;
- Plan and conduct training and extension activities such as workshops, seminars, round-table conferences, etc.;
- Provide input to the legislature, executive, and judiciary on the latest trends and developments in IPR law and policy on a regular and upon request basis;
- Assist in IPR law and policy-related activities of DPIIT and MNLU Mumbai;
- Contribute towards ensuring that MNLU Mumbai achieves knowledge and research excellence worldwide in IPR law and policy;
- Report on an annual and periodic basis to DPIIT and the University on programs and activities, indicators of achievement, results obtained under the Chair;
- The Chair shall undertake survey studies, research projects, etc.
